Instructions to put together are awful
Bike is great but it amazes me that a company as long standing as Schwinn would cheap-out with awful instructions that are too small to read and could have so easily be simplified.

The seat can get uncomfortable after 30 minutes or so. I had trouble immediately with the power plug and the socket, it was loose and caused the machine to lose power. I had to crazy glue them together to keep the plug from moving and it's held up so far.

Comments about Schwinn 140 Upright Bike:
I bought the Schwinn 140 Upright as a gift for my parents. They absolutely love the bike and it's getting great use. The set up was a little tricky, but we still figured it out within a few hours. The bike is quiet, comfortable and I would reccomend this to anyone looking. It's a great value for the price.

Comments about Schwinn 140 Upright Bike:
I bought this bike to help with my training for the Tour de Cure bicycle charity ride that supports the American Diabetes Association. I am 6'3", and the seat is able to be adjusted perfectly. My wife, who is 6', also uses the bike and loves that it is able to support our long legs. I have been increasing my time and mileage, and I love that I am able to see and record my progess. I would recommend this bike to anyone who wants to supplement street bike training with and indoor bike.

Comments about Schwinn 140 Upright Bike:
Got the bike a couple of months ago to supplement the treadclimber. It provides a nice warmup for the treadclimber, that is to get the heart rate up. The quiet and smooth operation were a suprise based on the comparatively low price for the bike. The preprogrammed workout levels offer more than enough challenge for us. The only complaint, time to assemble and thread the wires through the channels.

Comments about Schwinn 140 Upright Bike:
I use this product because I have Chondromalacia Patella in both of my knees. It's a better work-out than my treadmill! It's very quiet! I put it in my living room instead of my work-out room downstairs with no worries of waking up my husband who works night shift. The screen is easy to operate and there is a scrolling marquee that motivates you and gives you helpful ques such as taking longer strides, to take a drink of water and slow it down until the next resistance, etc. Very helpful and motivational. The water bottle holder holds big and small water bottles and they don't fall out when you're working out. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase. Schwinn never lets our family down! Even our bicycles are Scwhinn! Great products!

Comments about Schwinn 140 Upright Bike:
This bike was a great buy but the assembly directions weren't the best. Also the pre-programmed work outs are kind of difficult to find, as well as putting in your profile information. Overall it is a nice bike, quiet and comfortable. Great value for the price!

Comments about Schwinn 140 Upright Bike:
I'll be riding this for about an hour 3-4 days a week. It replaces my first bike which was a Proform. This is a good quality and sturdy bike. I am 5' 2' and I adjusted the seat as low as it will go and it's comfortable.

Comments about Schwinn 140 Upright Bike:
Bought this bike 2 months ago. It is already falling apart. The handles are "wobbly". The height is adjustable only to some extent. I am 5'5" and even at the lowest height, it is too high for me.

What does cross training (use arms and upper body) mean on the bike?Asked on 1/24/2012 by grandma the young from Torrington, CT1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE

The Schwinn 140 Upright Bike cannot be used for cross training because the handle bars are stationary. If you are interested in cross training, we recommend looking at some of our Schwinn Airdynes.Answered on 2/22/2012 by AH from Vancouver, WA

Q:
How do I tighten the seat to keep it from moving? I have tightened the adjustment knob as far as it goes, but the seat still tends to rotate after I have been riding for a while.Asked on 4/5/2011 by Anonymous1 answer

If the seat is only rotating while riding, I suspect that you need to tighten the two bolts that are directly underneath the saddle.Answered on 4/7/2011 by Rick from NLS_WHQ

Hello
The maximum seat height on the 140 is 40”. So, depending on your inseam, you might be able to fit on the bike.Answered on 3/18/2011 by Rick from NLS_WHQ
Q:
What adjustments can I make for a shorter person. My wife is 5'0" and feels like she is reaching for the pedals. I moved the seat full forward and as far down as it will go. Any other adjustments?Asked on 3/8/2011 by Nick from KY1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Hello Nick, It sounds like you have made the correct adjustments to the bike. The only thing that might help your wife fit better is to get a lower profile saddle. This could potentially lower the saddle by .5 to 1”. Lower profile saddles can be found at a local bicycle shop.Answered on 3/18/2011 by Rick from NLS_WHQ
Q:

The Schwinn exercise bikes are compatible with standard bicycle saddles. Therefore, you can select a saddle of your choice at a local retailer or bike shop.Answered on 2/28/2011 by Rick from NLS_WHQ
